I’ve been making more music videos! I love green screens! Available to shoot on weekends.

We made this video in a few hours with a green screen. I animated and modeled the guillotines using cinema 4d and the backgrounds in the video are from an American Petroleum Institute propaganda video called “Destination Earth” (found on the Prelinger Archive) meant to question what the nature of stability is if it’s built on unsustainable fossil fuels and an economic system that requires slave labor.

From the album "A People's History of Gauche," out July 12th on Merge Records. http://smarturl.it/PeoplesHistory

Camera and lighting: Alex Miklowski
Direction, editing and animation: Kara Stokowski

The video was filmed entirely in front of a green screen, and is heavily inspired by the music videos of the B-52's, Dee-Lite and italo disco videos from the 1980's. For the backgrounds I used nihilistic footage of landfills, cleaning toilets, and the BP oil spill to echo the songs feelings of desperation under capitalism. The video is a collage of choreography, digital animation, stop motion and creative commons found footage.
